Thanks to all the folks here at Providence Connections for all their help and support throughout the summer. I especially would like to thank Kathy Stafani, Sister Caroline, and Tish for having faith in the project from the start. Thanks to all the neighbors here, at Marshall/Shadeland for supporting the project and stopping by to chat every now and then. Thanks to Reginald, the Pittsburgh Police and anyone else who was so understanding and helpful when the security alarm went three times too many. Thanks to uncle Bobby for bottles of water, my Aunt Gerry and Phyliss for pictures of St. Leo's church. Thanks to my Mom and Dad for standing by, watching Mia and everything else. Thanks to Dave, because without his help the mural may have taken twice as long to complete. And my son Alex, he put in a few days on weekends too, priming, base coating, and sealing.
Dave and I truly enjoyed being here in your neighborhood during the summer. It was a strange at first for me to revisit a place that was part of my childhood, but the design, the style and it's message came to me with ease. Looking at the mural now and reflecting on the the process, I realize how truly blessed we are. It's not the place but the people who make it special with their act of kindness and sharing and caring for one another. Like you, the Marshall/Shadeland community is a part of who I am. So, thank you again for giving me this unique opportunity to leave you with a mural from my heart.
Please enjoy "Peace, Hope & Charity" for many years to come.
